Take A Pawn Privacy Policy
Take A Pawn captures the visible area of the user’s active browser tab only when the user initiates a capture.
The captured image is processed locally on the user’s device to detect a chessboard position. It may be stored temporarily in Chrome session storage so it can be transferred between the extension popup and side panel.
Captured images are not transmitted to the developer or to third parties.
Take A Pawn collects limited anonymous usage statistics, such as feature usage counts and technical detection statistics, to understand how the extension is used and to improve detection quality and user experience.
Aggregated, non-personally identifiable usage data is processed using Google Analytics through the Google Analytics Measurement Protocol. Take A Pawn does not send captured images, browsing history, page content, or chessboard images to Google Analytics.
For analytics, Take A Pawn generates a random client identifier and stores it locally on the user’s device using Chrome local storage. This identifier is used to distinguish analytics clients over time. It does not contain the user’s name, email address, or other personal identity information, and Take A Pawn does not use it to track cross-site browsing history.
Take A Pawn does not collect personally identifiable information, browsing history, authentication information, financial information, location data, or personal communications.
The captured image is promptly removed from temporary session storage shortly after it is saved.
